Click for Babies is a Vancouver campaign which our Auxiliary has co-opted. Georgina and her knitting partner accepted Anne's challenge and knit all there hats. Wow! They will be gratefully accepted by Victoria General Hospital babies.
Georgina says, "My friend/former co-worker is Bev. (She is a very private person so I hesitate to give her last name) We started knitting hats in mid-June when Anne asked for knitters at our meeting and finished September 12th
I knit 114 hats
Bev knit 146 hats
And, I have my first one finished for next years campaign."
The Auxiliary was sent a letter from Prevent Shaken Baby Syndrome BC:
A huge thank you to all the fabulous volunteers who knit and crocheted baby caps for the 2018 CLICK for Babies BC Campaign to raise awareness about normal infant crying, how to cope with crying, and the dangers of reacting to crying in frustration by shaking or harming an infant. This year over 125 knitting groups, senior centres, retirement residences, community groups, and individuals donated 9,493 newborn caps! These are to be distributed to new parents along with Period of PURPLE Crying information materials on early normal infant crying and the dangers of reacting in frustration by shaking.
